God Loves A Cheerful Giver — Part 1

It is more blessed to give than to receive.

That is true and that has always been true and will always be true.

The position of life. And the position of our lives is to give. To give and to give and to give. To give and not expect anything in return from human beings.

Christ in the Gospels said give and it shall come back to you. God doesn’t tell us how it will come back to us but His word guarantees that it will happen and we can rest assured in that.

Giving is never a losing activity. It may look that way but you can rest on Christ’s promises no matter what.

Does God always need returns from us for the things He gives us? No. First of all, none of us can ever match God when it comes to what He’s given to us. While He does require certain things of us, those things are not too difficult for us to either understand or apply to our everyday lives.

There are a lot of dynamics when it comes to giving.

The key in life is to give. The key in life is to always strive to be a giver. You don’t have to give to only a single person. I’ve found it more beneficial to be a giver to others in general.

Spread your gifts around. At the same time, make sure you keep something for yourself.

Don’t give if you’re not cheerful. The Bible says the Lord loves a cheerful giver. Never give grudgingly. Only give cheerfully.

If you’re giving to another person is not coming from a place of pure joy, it’s most likely best not to give or give to them.

Though many times the dynamics of giving and giving to others are complicated, it’s something God wants us to do. It’s a key Christ commands us to explore.

Also, a lot of people are in need. About two billion people don’t have access to safe and clean drinking water. I have electric power in my house. About 700 million people don’t have electric power in their houses.

Not many people are well off. I’m not the most well-off person on the planet, but I can see I’m much better off than very many others on many levels.

All I’ve been given be it energy, time, talents, or monetary resources is to be put to use for the betterment of others primarily.

I should never be hell-bent on making sure I receive, as a condition for giving to others around me. The challenge of giving also means one has to increase their capacity when it comes to being able to give.

We’ve had the popular phrase, you can’t give what you don’t have. We all have something to give. We all have already something we can give. The exercise of giving teaches us a lot about ourselves and a lot about others too.

There’s no perfect giving and there’s no perfect giver but we get better with each try and attempt.

Some have lots of money to give. Some have lots of time to give. What do you have to give? What can you learn to give? How can you give in ways that don’t leave you depleted in the long run?

In the world system, many only give where they can see a clear return on investment. As those who live in the kingdom of God, we give even to those who don’t seem like they’ll ever give or be a return on investment.

Life is long and dynamic and can be a shocker. One day you may find that someone you gave to, is now in a position to give back to you.

However, we shouldn’t look to others for returns for our giving.

I must only look to God for returns on my giving, even if the returns I want don’t come in my lifetime, I’m guaranteed to get my blessings in eternity. All I have to do is continue to grow and live a Christ, the King-dominated existence while on this earth.
